I am super frustrated right now with this one lady when taking our son Bryan to school. Each morning this same lady and I are on the exact schedule. To give you some background, our town has 3 schools: elementary, the Intermediate Middle School and the High School. Both the Intermediate Middle School and the High School are located on the service road of a major highway here in Texas. Before hitting the school zone the speed limit is 55 and when you get to the school zone the speed limit is 35.
Every morning this lady flies past me in the 55 mph zone and also speeds through the school zone only to discover she is still just one car ahead of me in the drop off zone. To make matters worse, she then turns around and goes the wrong way in the drop off zone. I am frustrated because she does not obey the laws or the rules the school has. In addition she is putting herself and son, along with other drivers in jeapordy. Furthermore, there are many kids who walk to school along that road and with her speeding, well, I just won't say what could happen.
To add insult to injury let's talk about the Rice, TX Police Department. Let me start out by saying that our little police department had their world rocked for speeding ticket quotas, corrupt officers, corrupt everything and are still having issues. I will be glad when election time gets here in May and we the people can vote some of these folks out of office. An example of our fine police department is this man. http://elliscountyobserver.com/
This was taken from his facebook page and the reason he is no longer an officer on our police force. It has nothing to do with the fact he is drinking in this picture, as he was off duty at the time, but the tattoo that many view as racist. Back to the story:
So I decide today I am going to call the non-emergency number for the police department and guess what happened? I GOT VOICEMAIL! Yes folks and when I drove past the police station....not a single squad car or civilian car. Um, I guess I'm confused. But the incidents today made me realize that yesterday I actually did see the chief of police unlocking the door to the police station.
I know that every town is making cutbacks, I know my town isn't the only one with a corrupt police department or shady folks in government offices and I know money plays a huge factor but it is seriously making me question if the people who are in office for the people are really for the people or for themselves.
I will be emailing the school principal and the school board after I post this and it fuels my fire even more to run for city council office next election.

I don't know much about your town or police department, but I can comment on the stupid, ignorant woman who is disobeying the traffic laws.
ReplyDeleteOk, I'm not saying that you should for sure do this and am in no way advocating violence. But, on one of those days just leave when she leaves. And follow her home. And go back at dark. And slash her tires. No I'm kidding. But I did follow a driver like that home once so that I could talk to her without causing a scene in a school parking lot.
