If you are not from Ennis, Texas then you may not know about the biggest Czech event in North Texas: Polka Fest. Each year there are events for the entire weekend including a parade downtown. This year was the first time our fire department was in the Polka Parade. Most of the time we are on the sidelines watching everyone else but not this time. In addtion to being in the parade, I also asked on of the ladies at work who is raising her grandson, to come out and let him ride on the fire truck with us.
Cliff had the best time ever. Sorry the pictures are dark as we were in the shade waiting to take our place in line.
Besides our awesome fire truck, there were also several floats in the parade. I did not manage to get a picture of our chuch but I did manage to get a picture of the coolest thing in the entire parade:
